With a much stronger network of Imperial subjects across the sea, all of whom had displayed loyalty, the Empire would significantly reduce the presence of the Imperial Military in the Old World. Large population centers would be far and few between, and those who lived in the brutal landscape of the furthest northern regions were considered too unreliable to conduct census responses upĮmperor Zimon and the Imperial Senate would, after days of debate, believe that victory in the Old World had effectively been achieved. Due to the everlasting presence of the Imperium in Elysium, they had become greatly distrusting of foreign powers other than the Elysians themselves and are opposed to any attempts at centralization, and simply desire to be alone.ĭue to their isolated nature, the Empire had found that establishing reliable census results in the region were difficult. The Thuleans, as they would come to be known, largely integrated with people from groups who had lived there for millennia and adopted some of their traditions and culture. In the far north, the descendants of the Elysians and Barbaroi who had fled into the forests of the north to escape the ‘civilizing’ grasp of the Imperium were emerging as a new subculture of the greater Elysian people. (Authors note: This is the updated Hyperborealian culture with the new update) If the Empire was to resolve their differences between an increasing divide between the East and West, the Elysians must be able to mend the shift between the two regions, or else would be lost. The Empire had come into the Old World, and through centuries of conquest, had displaced and destroyed millennia of established aristocracy and society. While they were conquered by the Elysians, the Western Exarchs viewed themselves largely due to cultural differences between the Eastern-originated Elysian and were seen as conquered people who were not equals with the Elysians. While the East as incredibly grateful for the Imperium, where they were once a conquered minority under foreign rule, the Western perception was incredibly mixed. The Elysians were seen as more of a civilizing force, who conquered entire nations with the intent to create a long-lasting nation built around Elysian principles and imagery. Such examples, while encouraged due to its symbolic status, were not a realistic portrayal of what had occurred. Through their Hellenic heritage, Imperial propaganda would come to portray the Elysians in a much more ancient light, using their ancestry to portray the Elysians as a new Alexander.
The dream of over two millennia had been realised, and the children of the ancient empire would finally destroy Persia and their dreams of imperium that had caused untold conflict and hostility since antiquity.
